Fwang Tung Carambola - star fruit - 3 to 4 feet tall - grafted tree - ship 3 gal pot
The Fwang Tung is a popular, high-quality Thai variety of star fruit (Averrhoa carambola) prized for its exceptionally sweet, crisp, and juicy flavor with very low acidity.
Fruit Characteristics
• Shape and Size: Large fruits measuring about 5 to 8 inches long with wide ribs that create a profound, sharp star shape when sliced crosswise.
• Color and Texture: Pale yellow to golden-yellow skin and flesh. The texture is crisp, firm, and very juicy like an apple or sweet melon, containing very few seeds.
• Flavor Profile: Honey-sweet with minimal sourness, often balanced so it remains pleasant and sweet even when the wing edges are still slightly green.
• Uses: Best eaten fresh out of hand, sliced in salads, juiced, or used as a garnish or in beverages.
