Gala' is a wonderful dessert fruit from New Zealand. 'Gala's' fruit is medium size, conic to round shape: a beautiful red-on-yellow color. The yellow flesh is aromatic, firm, crisp, juicy and sweet. Fruit ripens Late August to Early September. This apple stores well. Will take summer heat. Chilling requirement is less than 500 hours. Self-fruitful and a good pollinator for other varieties.
