Prunus mume ‘Mokel’. Spectacular early pink blooms, 1" to 1 1/4" fruit. Sometimes used for pickling.
Prolific, spectacular, very-early single pink spring flowers are deliciously fragrant of sweet spice and are followed in summer by one inch wonderfully fragrant ume apricots used for umeboshi plums and plum wine(thin the fruit set for better size) on this lovely small (16-20') tree; best planted in a protected spot so that the flowers aren't caught by late frost.
